How to create and prepare MathMatize exercises
Create an Exercise
Exercises are the building blocks of MathMatize content. A single exercise can be reused in a classroom task, included in a live poll, shared through a catalog, or copied and adapted later.
Basic workflow
- Open the exercise catalog.
- Choose Create.
- Select the exercise type that matches the student interaction you want.
- Write the prompt, formulas, images, or explanation content.
- Add answer settings such as blanks, choices, formula tap targets, or grading details.
- Add tags and difficulty level.
- Preview the exercise and test likely student responses.
- Save the exercise as a draft, or publish it when it is ready to use broadly.
Choose the right exercise type
- Use Fill in the Blank when students should enter answers inside math or text.
- Use Drag and Drop when students should match options to blanks from a shared bank.
- Use Multiple Choice for one or more selected options.
- Use Formula Tap when students should identify parts of a displayed formula.
- Use Long Answer for open-ended text responses.
- Use Explanation for non-graded instructional content.
Before adding an exercise to a poll or assessment
Check the exercise in preview with correct answers, common incorrect answers, blank responses, and alternate forms that students may reasonably enter. For symbolic and numeric answers, also review testing student responses, tolerance and precision, and variables and simplification.
